Calendar of events

Kintbury Tennis Club tries to arrange a number of fun social and fund-raising events throughout the year. Put these dates in your diary.

Sunday, September 14th, 2008 midday start

American tournament. A fun family day with mixed games organised in American tournament format, with a BBQ and booze provided. £5 entry fee per person.

Monday, August 4th, 2008

With one game still to play the men's A team has secured the division one title of the Newbury & District League yet again. Well done guys. Several B team players have had to play in the A team at various times, and C team players have had to step up to B team too, and even D team players have turned out for the C team, so it has been a real club effort to secure this title. Sadly, the D team finished at the foot of Div 5 (note to self - must do better next year).

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008 10.00am start

Junior tournament. A chance for juniors to compete and win a prize. See report on Junior page.

Saturday, April 19th, 2008 7.30pm start

Another Quiz night. These are so popular we have to do them twice a year! Quiz with four rounds of general knowledge questions, supper, raffle and cash prizes. Bring your own booze. Small charge to take part.

Sunday, April 20th, 2008, 2pm start

Come and join us on the first day of the season, play some tennis and get your name entered into the draw for Wimbledon tickets. The coach will be on hand with tips and advice. We will start at 11.00 am and go on to 5pm.

Bank Holiday Monday, May 26th, 2008, 10.30am start

The Ollie Johnson Memorial Kintbury 5 mile run. Download an entry form to take part in our annual fun and see if you can beat the time of 26 minutes 51 seconds recorded by last year's winner Andy McLeod (pictured). Or just try to complete the course at your own pace. It's a pretty and not too challenging course on country roads and off-road tracks.
